When you read a good story, you're cheering on the story characters.

After all, you're on the adventure, too. 

But it's frustrating when you feel more like a critic than an adventurer after reading yet another book with characters that aren't relatable.

Then there's a story that's compelling from cover to cover, but it left you feeling discouraged and depressed at the end of the weekend.

It's easier to re-read your childhood favorites for the umpteenth time, rather than face Monday morning with extra stress from stories with no redeeming quality.
